On Monday we decided to take a trip in the camper van to see the new pier at Weston Super Mare. The old pier burnt down a few years ago and now they have built a shiny new one. Growing up in Southend on Sea, I have a love of the seaside and piers. I understand they are becoming a bit of an endangered species now though with so many of them burning down.
It was absolutely freezing when we left at 9am in the morning. As the Camper van doesn't have a heater, we had to wrap the children up in the back with hot water bottles and duvets. We were definitely ready for a hot drink by the time we got there. Unfortunately, My outfit is really more about practicality than style. I was desparate to wear my new Dorothy Perkins cable knit tights so wore them with my El Naturalista Inuit boots. I wore the only coat that I had that was both warm enough and suitable for digging on the beach. I also wore my snood to keep me extra snug and warm. My skirt is from Jackpot and top Topshop.
The pier and the seafront at Weston was absolutely packed with people but we still managed to do the usual stuff - donkey rides and sandcastles for the children plus fish and chips, it had warmed up so much by lunchtime we even managed to sit outside.
