I haven't been blogging for the last week or so . Partly due to failure of my broadband connection which has thankfully been sorted out by a very patient BT engineer, but more importantly because I have been on holiday with Mr Style Eyes, the children (and Roberta or course) to Devon and Cornwall. We started off in Dawlish Warren for 3 nights before heading off to Watergate Bay (near Newquay), one of my favourite places in the world.
The first few days were a little chilly making it difficult to wear much other than my hoody and trusty khaki green anorak / parka. Luckily khaki green is one of my favourite colours so I didn't mind too much. Then in the last few days the blue sky broke through and we got sunshine. I even managed to hire a wetsuit and hit the waves for a spot of bodyboarding. But the majority of the time was just spent chilling out, sitting on the beach watching the waves roll in (and the surfers!) followed by BBQ and beer. Due to a bit of stress not long before going I was amazingly unprepared for such great weather and ended up feeling quite jealous of all the beautiful beach dresses I saw on the beach when I was wearing cropped jeans. Better planning next time!
I love the style inspiration I always get from visiting Watergate Bay where there is a definite surfer look with some great clothes shops in the area selling surfer style clothes (more on this in my next post).
When I saw this row of beach huts at Dawlish Warren I couldn't help have an outfit picture. It definitely brightens up a fairly dull outfit.
This top was my recent charity shop find, a really comfy camping outfit.
One evening I decided to get a little dressed up in this charity shop dress. It didn't last long though, I was so cold I had to resort to changing back into jeans and hoody.
I am not quite sure what is happening with the footwear in this outfit, I guess I just wanted a change from the pair of shoes that I had been wearing all week.
This is one of my favourite outfits from the trip, featuring that trusty cut off denim skirt, yet again!
Layering defintiely seems to be the key to camping clothes for me. Dresses, skirts or shorts for the warmer weather with added leggings, cardigans and jackets for cooler days and evenings.
Since I have been back I have been busy creating a new header for the blog, what do you think? I was getting a little bored of the old one so have used a photograph and edited it to make it look sketchy.
I have definitely missed reading my favourite blogs over the last week, but will try and catch up with you all over the next week.
Have a good week
With warmest wishes
Ceri X
