FBFF - Uniforms and Outfit Formulas

Friday, July 1, 2011

Todays FBFF topic is uniforms and outfit formulas. Vahni from Grit and Glamour has a post several weeks ago in which she outlined her personal uniform or outfit formula as she dubbed it.

1. What’s your go-to outfit formula?

I'm not sure I really have a go to outfit formula, I try and dress differently each day. But I tend to wear a lot of dresses which are usually a line or shift dresses. I also tend to wear short cropped cardigans and jackets. I almost always add accessories including jewellery, scarves and hair decorations. I usually have a neutral coloured handbag as it goes with everything. I suppose the most worn outfit I have is a little black mini shift dress which I wear with leggings, it can be accessorised in so many different ways. I usually try and cram as much colour and pattern as possible into my outfits but if I am wearing something plain or neutral I try and wear a statement accessory.

2. How did you come about this formula?

I just like wearing dresses, I have so many of them, I decided I should start getting a little more wear out of them. Cropped jackets suit me because I am quite short, they sort of trick the eye into thinking I have a longer body.

3. Do you have different formulas for different occasions in your life?

Yes situations when I do need to be practical I tend to wear leggings and ballet pumps with my dresses. For smarter occasions I wear tailored jackets and heels, for parties cropped cardigans plus heels and clutch bags.

4. Has it morphed over the years?

Yes I used to wear a  lot of jeans for day to day wear. I hardly ever wear jeans these days. Perhaps this is because I work from home so don't really separate my work and causal outfits, I just wear what I want everyday. Also the children are getting a little older so my outfits don't need to be as practical as when they were babies. The blog has also affected how I dress as I explained in last weeks Friend Friday post on blogging and personal style.

5. Which other blogger’s outfit formula would you like to swipe?

Definitely Susie from Style Bubble - Surely she doesn't have a formula though!

Do you have a uniform of outfit formula.?
With warmest wishes
