I'm back in
L.A. and catching up on all the fantastic costume exhibits on display around
Hollywoodland, like these amazing original outfits worn in
Peter Jackson's second installment of his
Lord of the Rings prequel trilogy,
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Hobbit, Dwarf and
Wizard costumes worn by three of the lead actors in
The Hobbit 2 were photographed on display within
ArcLight Hollywood's cinema foyer on December 21, 2013.

Costume Designers responsible for creating the looks of these fantasy costumes from

In
The Hobbit Trilogy Frodo's uncle,
'Bilbo Baggins', is played by
Martin Freeman and in this second installment sees much more action, fighting giant spiders, escaping elves and orcs, and of course, taking on a huge fire-breathing dragon. He wears this particular outfit towards the beginning of the movie.
Costume worn by Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield
in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug In the movies
Richard Armitage plays the dwarven king-in-exile
'Thorin Oakenshield', who leads a company of twelve dwarves, along with
Bilbo, to retrieve the
Arkenstone gem from the dragon
Smaug's treasure trove within the
Lonely Mountain in order to unite his people.
Wizard costume worn by Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey
in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Ian McKellan reprises his role as the wise wizard
'Gandalf the Grey' and it was so cool to see his iconic costume up close and in person. I was actually surprised at how much of a metallic shimmer his robes had.
