Cosmic Dress - Your Eyes Lie

cosmic print dress

bodycon print dress

I was very excited to receive a parcel the day before yesterday (I love parcels) containing a dress and t shirt from Your Eyes Lie in Carnaby Street. Whilst I never would usually wear anything so body con or short, I definitely had to make an exception for this dress just because I loved the cosmic digital print so much. Mr Style Eyes assured me that it wasn't too short and he regularly sees girls wearing much shorter skirts than that (I am guessing they are usually younger and slimmer than me though).

An unusual and quite subtle design which makes me think of what it would look like in space (although as I haven't ever been there so I wouldn't actually know!). I love the colours and I also love the 3/4 length sleeves which are great for short people like myself. It has a very low cut back, which I might consider showing off in the summer. But for now, I really love it with one of my favourite tailored jackets, black tights and my Topshop wedge boots. The print really stands out under the jacket too.

My excuses for the not particularly good photos, I had my hair cut and coloured yesterday, which is great, but even after washing, it is still suffering from a little post haircut frizz. I was also up at 4.30am, yes 4.30!!! this morning with my daughter. I am struggling to look awake in the photos, actually I not really sure if I am awake.

More about the T shirt that I was sent in another post soon. In the meantime, you can check out the Your Eyes Lie website for some other great cosmic print dresses and t shirts and lots more. They also have some great pendant necklaces, I love this camera.

Music and fashion have always been inextricably intertwined. In the twenties they had Jazz and of course, Chanel. In the 50’s they had Rockabilly chic and Elvis Presley. But today music and fashion have collaborated to bring you something completely different. The powerhouses of Miss Selfridge and Hed Kandi have joined forces to create something so overtly fun and attention grabbing that Style Eyes just had to pay it a bit of attention. Hed Kandi is the ultimate music and lifestyle brand, and the Miss Selfridge shopper is outgoing and trendy. To celebrate ten years of Hed Kandi, the two brands have produced a collection of ten dresses designed to take you from ‘daytime chic to night time clubbing’.

The range itself is colourful, daring and surprisingly wearable. Whether or not it’s your cup or tea, there’s no denying the designs certainly are creative. On first glance I found the collection quite overwhelming. Especially as it’s something I would never usually take a second glance at (maybe I don’t get it, I’ve never been to Ibiza), yet somehow the longer I stared at the collection, the more mesmerizing it became. The designs and styles were incredibly eye catching, oozing glamour with a Mediterranean twist. All designs are a bodycon shape, with an individual splash of colour and sparkle thrown into the mix. My personal favourite was a dress named ‘served chilled’, which features a green and black strapless design perfect for high summer evenings. For those daring enough to give the bodycon designs a shot, I would recommend adding a bit of bling and a large bouffant to your outfit. The dresses are outrageous, flirty and colourful, so make sure your whole look reflects these elements for the ultimate statement outfit. The collection is available in Miss Selfridge stores nationwide from August 2009, and as I myself am considering jetting to Ibiza for my first experience of fun, sun and super clubs this summer, I might just see you in the queue..
