That Beige Dress Again

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Considering that I always say I am not a big fan of neutrals, this beige dress seems to be getting a lot of wear. This colour is just right for me, any lighter and I start to look pale and drained. I love the shape of this dress, it is so comfortable and doesn't even need ironing. I also love the many different ways that it can be accessorised.

Today I have accessorised with the Liberty scarf that I got at Vintage at Goodwood. I have also managed to get the red shoes that I have been wanting for ages. I needed a new pair of ultra comfy flats so I got these ones by Pikolinos in the sale. Pikolinos is a Spanish eco brand that uses artisan manufacture and combines 'style, comfort and respect for the environment'. They are definitely one of the best made and highest quality pair of shoes that I have ever owned and incredibly comfortable.

Do you have a piece of clothing that you end up wearing all the time?

Sarenza Shoe and Outfit Contest

Monday, June 28, 2010

I was recently invited by Sarenza, a French online shoe retailer that has just launched a UK site, to enter a competion to win a shopping trip to Paris. All I had to do was choose a pair of shoes from Sarenza, wear my most fashionable outfit to match the shoes and take a picture of myself. The blogger that gets the most votes between 5 and 10th July will win a shopping trip to Paris. You can follow the competiton on the Sarenza Blog. I will be eternally grateful for any votes (I shall post a reminder a bit nearer the time)

The shoes that I chose were by Pare Gabia whose range I have a crush on because they combine elegance and wearabilty and flatter my feet, yes gorgeous shoes that I can actually walk in.

As I wouldn't consider any of my clothes to be the height of fashion, I decided to wear my faithful beige dress which fits in well with the summers trend for neutrals but is also is the perfect back drop to show of gorgeous accessories and of course these shoes.

Relaxing, Grown Up Style

neutral colour dress
beige mesh dress On Friday I had a day out in Bath with my lovely friends, a sort of late birthday treat. We spent a few hours at the the Thermae Bath Spa followed by lunch at Wagamammas and a quick dash around the shops. For such grown up day out, I decided that a grown up outfit was called for. I bought this dress by Sandwich in a local boutique with some birthday money. I can't really do many of this seasons nude and neutral shades but I think this beige colour just about works with my colouring.

For me this dress is about as minimalist as it gets, I usually like to try and cram as many colours, patterns and details into an outfit as possible. I couldn't however go completely minimalist (it is just not me) so I tried two options with the pink cardigan and butterfly cardigan. In the end I opted for the pink cardigan. I am quite liking this new neutral dress for the many possible options of outfit and accessorising it offers - expect to see much more of this dress.
