Ten things that make me happy award

Monday, January 25, 2010

Style of a Fashionista gave me this award, which I am very excited about as it is my first ever award. She listed Style Eyes as one of the ten blogs that make her happy. Style of a Fashionista is one my favourite daily reads, I just love her gorgeous photos and very stylish outfits. As part of the award, I need to list 10 things and 10 blogs that make me happy. So here goes:
Cuddles and stories with my 2 gorgeous girls
Saturday nights in front of the telly with Mr Style Eyes
Coffee or food (plus lots of chatting) with my lovely friends
Cooking
Holidays
Shopping
Sunshine
Random acts of kindness
People watching
Anything by or in the sea - sailing, scuba diving, swimming, walking on the beach

Introducing the Fashion Buzz

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Not content with just writing for Style Eyes plus another 4 other client blogs, I decided that I would like to push myself to the limit (and possibly beyond) by launching a new blog - The Fashion Buzz. It launched at the begining of 2010 and I am delighted that Alice of Reflection of Alice will be joining me in writing a weekly column. She has a great style of writing and I am sure it is going to make compelling reading.

The Fashion Buzz will aim to be a one stop shop for fashion news, features, trends and offers. It is of course a business vanture. I am hoping this will give me the opportunity to focus on my personal style and wants on Style Eyes and maintain the freedom to write what I want when I want.

I am completely absolutely chuffed with the new header and logo, Mr and Mrs Bee Stylish designed by Jeanette of Clement Graphics.

Please take a look, I would love to know what you think.

International Day of Swishing and Hemp Hand Protector

international day of swishing

If you are feeling a bit gloomy and spent out after Christmas Swishing or clothes swapping is a great way to have some fun, get some new clothes and all without spending loads of money. Swishing.org has declared January 9th International Day of Swishing (what a great idea) and is organising a flagship event in London. As much as I would have loved to attend, unfortunately the time, cost and logistics of getting there have ruined it for me (again). So I have decided to organise an online swishing or swap party through my website posh-swaps.com to allow those who don't live near to London to join in the fun and celebrations.

I am hoping that some of my fellow fashion bloggers and many more will be coming along to join in the fun and swap some clothes, as lets face it most of us are so completely clothes obsessed we need a constant stream of new clothes. But this can be damaging for both the environment and our bank balances so swapping is a great guilt free alternative to shopping.

I will be listing as many clothes for swapping as I can - more details soon. If you would like to come along and join the fun, just register with posh-swaps.com and list some clothes on or before 9th January, then browse what is up for swapping and propose a swap or wait for someone to propose a swap with you. Further details can be found on www.posh-swaps.com/blog/press/.
With the money that I save, I will be investing in a few bottle of my favourite hand cream which is an absolute essential for this time of year to keep my hands soft. In fact, the Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector the only hand cream that I have managed to find that stops my hands from cracking in the icy cold and centrally heated warm. I also love the smell

Alice through the looking glass

fashion blog
If you are a regular visitor to Style Eyes, you may have read a few of the posts that Alice Kelleher has written for us including Summer Style Glastonbury and Spanish Eyes. As guest blogger for Style Eyes Alice brings her own unique style in both her fashion and writing. Alice has covered a number of launches and shows for Style Eyes including the recent Junky Styling book launch. She obviously enjoyed herself so much she has started her own blog Alice through the looking glass.

The blog has only been going for a month or so but I would defintely recommend that you give it a visit. Alice posts on all sorts of fashion related subjects including vintage, designers and trends, she makes some interesting observations accompanied by some great photos with lots of her own personal style into the mix.
