Ready For A Long Hot Summer

Monday, May 16, 2011

Mr Style Eyes mentioned yesterday that he had heard on the radio we are going to have a long hot summer. Has anyone else heard that? Despite researching it on the internet I can't find any mention of it, but being the optimist that I am, I am taking his word for it.

So I this weekend I filled the void left by Blogger (when it went down and I lost the post that I had written) by planning more summer trips in the UK and preparing for the warm weather by wearing shorts for the first time this year, eek. Actually it didn't turn out to be as warm as I had expected but the long sleeved top plus kimono jacket kept me fairly warm. My legs are far too white and definitely need some sunlight before I venture out too much though.

No More Wants Challenge SS10 Trend - Shorts

Friday, January 22, 2010

At Alexander Wang

A Matthew Williamson

There seems to be a pair of shorts for just about any occasion for SS10 from evening to tailored and from leather to super short and sporty. I bought myself a pair of navy blue shorts in Topshop last year but I don't think I have worn them once yet. They looked great in the changing room mirror but once I got them home, I went right off them - what is it about changing room mirrors in shops

Anyway with shorts being a big trend and my self imposed shopping ban, I decided to give them another go. I have not been blessed with the longest of limbs and so shorts can be a bit of a challenge of me. But I rolled them up a little bit and took advantage of the cold weather to wear them with tights. Finally I took the opportunity to wear the new Topshop wedges to add a much needed bit of height and length to my legs(wow I almost feel tall). The top also fits in with another major Spring trend and one of my favourites - florals.

Winter sequin essentials - dress, skirt, top, leggings, shorts

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

Who would have thought that anything embellished with sequins could be described as essential, but this winter sequins look set to be one of the must have trends for both daytime and evening. I love the idea of adding a bit of sparkle to a daytime outfit and if cleverly combined with grey and neutral colours sequins can look amazing without looking too much. You can choose from metallic, black and multicoloured sequins to create whatever look you like.
